Sneggers:Queensboro Plaza, trumping Mrs Minns, placing Prof Plum in knip, shunting Si to Rockaway Parkway, and rotating all diagonals by 45 degrees. BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
gil: Oops, running towards the end of my tether on the rather successful Eleventh St ploy. Just one more - 242 St and Van Cortlandt. A new ploy follows in my next move. [Mrs M] Maybe... but my momentum was unstoppable.
Mrs Minns: Oh, but aha! Unless I'm very much mistaken Kingsbridge Street puts me in an enviable position, knipping the trump, delaying the rotation and maybe even bereaving gil of some of that unstopable momentum...why didn't I see that before?
Si:Central Park North. Well I must say, Sneggers, you've been rotten to me in all games recently! Turboknid at Pants MC, several trumpings and a spong...and now this! Well, I'll get you back, but for now, I'll just have to try and bring some semblance of presence back into the game.
Sneggers:Christopher Street, blonking Si to New Lots Av.
Prof Plum: I don't know- Winthrop Street? I have to tell you I'm more or less making this up as I go along.
Si: Well Prof, I must say, for a bluffer, you're doing very well indeed. Your last move, while not applying any restrictions, was a work of Tactical Genius! 84th Street
Mrs Minns: Mt. Eden Avenue. Glad to know I'm not the only bluffer here.
gil:Pelham Bay, somewhat low on LV, but with some LI remaining.
gil:Cathedral Way, and since the game is now dying, it's time for me to confess that my stategies were logical! In the first case, streets were modulo 11 = 0. The second was, of course, No Parking. I expect unbridled adulation to follow the revelation that ALL the moves I made this time were identical to those I made in the original New York game.
Which was here
SI:Times Square. [gil] The show ain't over 'till the fat lady sings! Thanks for disclosing your strategy. Intrigued, I am, however rather intrigued that your moves were identical to the game at UCL, whose goal station was Times Square , was it not. As far as I can see, unless its an amazing coincidence, the same moves cannopt help you win at Bowling Green?
Mrs Minns: That's as maybe, I still feel slightly cheated. It's hard enough trying to navigate New York without revelations and strategies and fat ladies. No adulation from me. Burnside Avenue is my move, made without strategy and with very little clue about actually winning - in fact, it's as close to being a random move as I believe it's possible to get in this game.
Mrs Minns: [Sneggers] Are you perchance going for a hatrick? Having trumped me and toffed me you have reduced my chances of making sense of this game in time to win it to virtually none at all. I'm warning you, if you do try to blonk me I will not be at all happy. Queensboro Plaza
Rich:138 St. I can never get the hang of this variation...
Si (Winner's Comments): Well, it was a bit mean of me to capitalise on everyones apparent diffculties in getting to grips with what, admittedly was a difficult transposition of a IMCS releset to a new network. I xcan honestly say, however that some of you were doing better than you thought you were, and shouldn't put yourselves down so much **glares ar Mrs. Minns**
Herr Bratsche: [Si] Have you played this before? I ran out of tokens long ago and was still about to land up in Harlem.
Mrs Minns: I'm not sure I like being glared at. Quite frankly I didn't have a chance, really, did I?
JLE: I suspect Si's not only played on this network before but also gained some good experience from watching the digression onto this network in the recent Lock Cup match between me and Dr Lock (he won and regained his title, by the way, after luring me into his home territory, regaining the advantage there and getting back to London first.)
Si: [JLE] yes, 'twas an enlightening experience. [Mrs. Minns] It was ever such an nice sort of glare, not malicious.
Mrs Minns: [Si] In that case I'm extremely flattered.
Nina: Damn, I've only just noticed this game and I shall be on the New York subway myself for the first time in 45 days time.
But, hang on a doggone minute, in the introduction the target was not MC, so surely this is a premature ending.
